Profile
  • I hold a Bachelor of Petroleum and Gas Engineering from Basrah University for Oil and Gas.
  • For fourteen months I ran the Yokogawa product line at Scientific Solutions Company — reading client specifications, selecting and quoting field instrumentation, and carrying offers through site visits, technical clarification and contract signature with Iraq's state operators and refineries.
  • That work sat between the process and the paperwork, and it taught me both. I am now deepening the instrumentation and control side, and looking for a role where the two fit together.

Sales Engineer — Yokogawa line

Jun 2025 – Aug 2026
Scientific Solutions Company · Basra
  • Held responsibility for the Yokogawa product line: field instrumentation and control equipment for oil, gas and refining clients.
  • Prepared and issued more than 100 technical and commercial offers, on tenders reaching above US$200,000.
  • Visited client sites at ROO, SRC, IOTC and MRC to follow up quotations, resolve technical specifications with end users, and carry contracts through to signature.
  • Translated process requirements into instrument selection — pressure, temperature, level and flow — rather than quoting from the catalogue alone.

Operations Coordinator

Nov 2021 – Dec 2022
AlADDA Company for Oil Services · Basra
  • Acted as the link between the office and the field supervisors — daily reports in, instructions out — keeping both sides working from the same picture.
  • Held the role for over a year while studying full time for the engineering degree.

Education

Bachelor of Petroleum & Gas Engineering

Graduated 2025
Basrah University for Oil and Gas
  • Graduation project — Formation Integrity Test. The pressure test run after a casing string is cemented, confirming the shoe and exposed formation will hold the mud weight planned for the next hole section before drilling continues.
  • The study covered how the test is planned and executed, how the result converts into an equivalent mud weight, and how that figure becomes the working pressure limit for the section below — including what it means when a formation fails to hold.

Self-driven

I am a petroleum and gas engineer first — reservoir and process fundamentals, simulation software, and the commercial side of the industry. Instrumentation and control is the ground I am adding to that, and I started adding it while I was still selling it.

  • The degree gave me the process side: formation integrity testing, wireline log interpretation, and simulation work in Petrel and Aspen HYSYS. That is the base everything else sits on.
  • On my own time I am working through measurement principles, control loops and Siemens PLC fundamentals — building on the instrumentation training and on fourteen months of reading real client specifications.
  • Comparing vendor specifications side by side to understand where one measurement principle suits a service better than another — working from manufacturer documentation and standards, and using AI tools to cover ground faster.
  • The aim is an engineer who can read the process, specify the instrument and hold the commercial conversation — not just one of the three.
